Collection Lambert in Avignon
The buildings that house The Collection Lambert, placed at its disposal by the City of Avignon, have an exceptionally rich heritage. Two beautiful mansions, the Hôtel de Caumont and Hôtel de Montfaucon, built in the 18th century by Jean-Baptiste Franque, have been remarkably renovated by Rudy Ricciotti and the brothers Cyrille and Laurent Berger respectively to meet the needs of the museum. Throughout the year, the Hôtel de Caumont presents a selection of the permanent collection, focusing on certain movements or artists. The works on display are regularly changed. The stairway in the entrance area, a registered historic monument, leads visitors to the large gallery which is transformed for each exhibition. Since 2000 the attic has been the site of Claude Lévêque’s immersive work. On the ground floor, the series of linked galleries are bathed in natural light and the room with arched openings faces the beautiful courtyard with its two regal plane trees. Directly adjacent to the exhibition spaces, there are two workshops for artistic creation and classes. Since the museum opened, artists have drawn inspiration from the Hôtel de Caumont and have created permanent works in the space. Some are immediately visible (Miroslaw Balka’s poetic installation, the statements of Lawrence Weiner, Jenny Holzer’s diode, Claude Lévêque’s other world, the words of Robert Barry, two Wall Drawings by Sol LeWitt, etc.), while others are more subtle (the totem animals and the celestial pathway of Koo Jeong-a, Niele Toroni’s imprints of paintbrushes, the door by Giulio Paolini, etc.).

Derneburg
Kunstmuseum Schloss Derneburg presents exhibitions of contemporary art for the enjoyment of the public in a unique and historic setting. The Schloss, situated near Hannover, has a history that stretches back almost one thousand years. For centuries it was a convent and later a monastery. In the 19th Century it became the residence of the Dukes of Münster who commissioned the renowned Hanoverian architect Georg Ludwig Laves to convert it to a stately home. Artist Georg Baselitz acquired the property in the 1970s and it became his residence and studio for approximately thirty years until its sale in 2006. Since then, the Schloss has been reunited with the adjacent domain and both have undergone extensive renovations to become one of the largest privately owned public museums for contemporary art in Europe.

The Feuerle Collection is a non-profit organization in Berlin founded by Désiré Feuerle and Sara Puig in 2016. It hosts exquisite, early Imperial Chinese stone and lacquer furniture and Chinese scholar furniture from the Han Dynasty to the early Qing Dynasty, from 200 BC to the 17thC, juxtaposed with early Khmer sculptures from the 7th to the 13thC, and international contemporary art by Zeng Fanzhi, Nobuyoshi Araki, Anish Kapoor, Cristina Iglesias, and Adam Fuss. Located in a former Second World War telecommunications bunker that has been renovated by British architect John Pawson, the institution encourages a conversation between different periods and cultures, and offers a new perception of ancient art. As part of a 7,350m2 space, The Feuerle Collection has two main exhibition halls, a Sound Room, a Lake Room, and an Incense Room. The Feuerle Collection is the first art institution in the world to present the Chinese Incense Culture. The Fondation Zinsou is an exhibition space for contemporary art in Africa. Since its inception in June 2005, its actions have grown and evolved but its international standards of excellence have always been maintained, thus ensuring its prolonged success beyond the limits of the continent.Aside from the exhibitions, the Fondation Zinsou has also formed a permanent collection, which has proved to be essential to the preservation of African artistic heritage on its native soil. Keeping contemporary African art in Africa today is a genuine necessity, as African artists flee the continent where the market for their work is almost non-existent. Faced with this situation, the Zinsou family put their passion for art in action and started collecting contemporary African art, guided all the while by a strong aesthetic and cultural commitment. This collection served as a starting point for a project that had been on the cards since the opening of the Fondation Zinsou, eight years ago: the creation of a Museum of contemporary art in Africa. Today, this project has come to life through the combined efforts of one family, the Foundation team and their many supporters. In a historical building in the city of Ouidah – La Villa Ajavon – Le Musée opened its doors in November 2013, with a first exhibition entitled "Highlights of the Collection".
